OMOLP - One More One Less Project.
There are around 18 million adults in America who consider themselves to be part of the LGBTQ community.
There are approximately 205 million christians in America, 141 million of them being protestant.
Currently LGBTQ members are 3x more likely to adopt in this country than are christians.
I bring this up, not because we are defined by what we are against, but because this illuminates an area that Christians are neglecting.
Our church, Pillar jacksonville, will be joining with the One More One Less Project. This is a North carolina organization, founded by a couple with a heart for fostering and adopting whose mission is to see churches step up across the state to 'foster' a culture more dedicated to the mission of fostering and adopting within their communities. OMOLP simply helps churches organize to facilitate more of their families becoming licensed to foster and adopt. If nothing else they provide a vision that churches can share together to address this need within our communities.
Isaiah 1:23 - "Your princes are rebels and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe and runs after gifts. they do not bring justice to the fatherless, and the widow's cause does not come to them."
in fairness, Christians are often able to have biological children, whereas the LGBTQ+ community is forced to adopt if they want children. that said, the statistic you reference is bad news and Christians should be zealous to do something about it.
